CBRC’s specialist boarding is designed for dogs who don’t fit into traditional kennels—those who are anxious, reactive, or behaviourally challenged. We offer both respite and holiday boarding, with a calm, understanding environment where each dog’s emotional and behavioural needs are respected.
Do you have an anxious dog? One with behaviour issues? One that is people reactive? Animal reactive? Have you been refused boarding? Do you find it hard to board them when you need some respite or are off on holiday? Did you know that we have specific experience of and cater for dogs with all sorts of issues that make it impossible for you to catch a break? Well we do and we are happy to board your dog, no matter his or her issue.
We are based in a lovely family run boarding kennels that have been established for over 20 years, in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside and we have cosy indoor heated kennels and large individual outside runs and we can even lay on special menus for the fussy eaters.
Returning rehab dogs receive ongoing skills top-ups during their stay, ensuring consistency and progress. All dogs benefit from routines and enrichment activities tailored to their comfort, helping them feel safe and supported while you’re away.
“Joy, Geoff has always been good when he comes back to me after a stay… and this time he is even more delightful!! He just seems so much more settled than he has ever before. Thank you to you and your team for everything you do for my lovely boy.” Michelle Franklin
“Just to say thank you to Joy and the team for their fantastic care for our boy Ted when he recently went for a boarding stay. As an anxious and sometimes tricky little character we’ve been reluctant to leave him any where, so haven’t had a holiday in a long time. So pleased we stumbled across CBRC and the fantastic work they do. It’s reassuring to know there is somewhere he can go and be in safe hands where no one will be phased by his little eccentricities!” Amanda Sharpe
“We were really grateful to have found Joy for specialist boarding. There was no judgment from her on how our GSD could be reactive, she was very understanding from our first initial contact.
She put us at ease with contact every day and was happy to administer his medication. It’s great to know she’s there for when we go away.” Julia Beaucliffe
“CBRC have been honestly amazing with our boy. He’s not great around people, he can be very reactive, so we’ve struggled to find a kennel that would even take him, especially with him being a big Cane Corso. The team at CBRC and especially Joy were patient and handled him exactly how he needed. They kept me updated with photos while he was there, which was a massive help. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough!” Krasamir Totev.
